Hi! I am Brenna Barney. I have been a Library Media Specialist for 12 years. I am currently working as a Library Media Specialist at Anchor Pointe Elementary in Bennington, NE. I serve PreK through 5th graders in the building. I enjoy getting to collaborate with my classroom teachers. I love to learn new things and am always excited and eager to share. I am a lifelong learner. I would love the opportunity to serve on the NSLA Board to continue learning as much as I can and inspire and help other librarians reach their full potential.
Jen Kawecki - Omaha Public Schools
Jennifer is in her fourth year as a librarian at Omaha Central High School. After sixteen years as a high school English teacher, two years as a college composition instructor, and one year as an ELL teacher, she has discovered the library as a true calling. She is passionate about teaching, reading, talking about books, and advocating for and serving others. She has a recent endorsement in Instructional Technology Leadership, never tires of learning new skills, and loves to experiment with ideas. She lives with her husband James, a high school history teacher; her daughter Josephine, a fourth grader; and a cat named Noodle.
Dana Fontaine - Fremont Public Schools
My name is Dana Fontaine. I "library" at Fremont High School. It is my home away from home. I live in Omaha, NE with my husband, Mike, and my 7 month old daughter Luna. Yes, we named her after our favorite character in Harry Potter. We also have five pets: three cats and two dogs. I am interested in serving on the NSLA board because I'm interested in being a change agent. I'm interested in advocating for libraries and promoting the best, most important, job in the world. I am most passionate about information, technology, and intellectual freedom. I am also interested in serving on the board because I believe that libraries are a place where people can really be free to explore and free to be themselves.
